Center Founder

Wang, Xiaobo

Born in Beijing to an artist family, he is the great-grandson of Chinese educator Wang Shao Ren. Influenced by art from an early age, he grew up with a particularly strong attachment to ink painting, and at the age of 17, he studied under the renowned Chinese painter Xu Zhanji, and later under the guidance of Professor Gao Guanhua of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Through careful study of ink painting techniques, he gradually developed his own unique and vivid style of painting.

In 1986, he held his first solo exhibition in Singapore, followed by a total of 16 solo exhibitions in China, Japan, the U.K., the U.S., France, and other countries, attracting worldwide attention. The exhibitions were reported in many media, including People's Daily, China Youth Daily, Beijing Daily, Guangming Daily, Asahi Shimbun, Mainichi Shimbun, Sankei Shimbun, and Yomiuri Shimbun.

In 1990, he went to Japan to study, during which time he taught throughout the Kansai region, founded the "Chinese Culture and Arts Center" in 1993, and in the same year founded the "Xiaobo Kai" (晓墨会).
